Getting command prompt at home/school/library.

1) This guide will not show you how to set off sprinklers/change your grades or hack the Gibson.

2) If you do use this guide and get command prompt up, and hell, even manage to do some cool stuff with it, that does NOT! Make you a hacker.

3) I am not responsible for how you use this infomation. It is for educational purposes only, and only you are responsible for any damages or injuries which may or may not be sustained after using and or reading this guide. Including but not limited to, broken noses, fried CPU's, dead PSU's, exploding computers, strained muscles and snapped tendons.


Ok, so there are MANY different ways to get command prompt up. I will try and cover as many as possible going from the most retarded way (Most obvious to be blocked, but sometimes still not), to the best ways (Nearly always unblocked). The tutorials go from most retarded way, or MRW, to Nearly Always unblocked way. or NAU.

I may also add relevant comments on each method.

Method One: The simple 'Run'
------------------------------------------------------------

* Click the start button.
* Somewhere along the right, there should be a 'Run' button, Click it.
* Type in 'command', and hit enter.

Please note, if this method isn't successful, you have 'run' but 'command' is blocked, try also entering 'cmd' in place of 'command'.
And if there is not run button, try holding the win key and 'r'

Method Two: Batch it up.
------------------------------------------------------------

* Open up notepad, yes, just notepad, not some fancy 'haxoring' tool.
* Type: 'Command' on the first line, and hit enter.
* Type: 'Cmd' on the second line.
* Click 'Save As', (File -> Save As)
* Now check that your options match the following (Bottom Centre)

File Name: Whateverthefuckyouwant.bat
Save as File Type: All Files
Encoding: ANSI
* Then browse to a suitable directory, and click save.
* Browse to that directory, and double click on 'NAME HERE EXLUDING -> .bat'
* Bingo, you should either have, a command prompt window up, or possibly two. (Depending on weather command/cmd is blocked.)


You may not be able to save as a .bat, if not, don't worry. Just continue.
Do NOT name your batch file either 'cmd' or 'command' because it will presume by either of those names that in the batch file you are telling it to open itself.
If you cannot get to notepad, open up an internet browser and right click -> view page source.

Method Three: Block Bypass
------------------------------------------------------------

* Go to Run OR open up notepad
* Type this EXACTLY
'REG add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System /v DisableCMD /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f'
* If you are in run, just hit enter.
* If you are in notepad, press enter, and on the next line type 'Cmd'
* Save it as a batch file. (Whatever.bat, all files, notepad only)

Method Four: To macro, or not to macro.
------------------------------------------------------------[list][*]Open up your choice of MicroSuck office product, eg, power point/word/excel.[*]At the top, click tools, and then Macro OR if macro isnt there, click the down arrow (At the bottom)[*]Click 'Record Macro'[*]Give it a random name, and hit OK.[*]A little box should pop up. Hit the stop button.[*]Go back to tools -> macro and click 'Macros'[*]Select your named macro and click 'edit'

Something along the lines of

Sub Abc()
'
' Macro recorded 13/04/2007 by Fouldini
'
End Sub

Should pop up.[*]Somewhere after the ''s end, add
'Shell "REG add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System /v DisableCMD /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f"'
Followed by a line break (enter) and then
'Shell cmd'

* Save as whatever.bat and then run it. Bingo! Your own command prompt!
